Emmitt Lee Cone, 94, went home to be with his Lord March 16, 2016 at his home. A memorial service will be held 4:00p.m., Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Connally Compton Funeral Directors Chapel. The family will receive friends 5 to 7:00p.m., Saturday, March 19, at the funeral home. Emmitt was born August 7, 1921 in Minerva, Texas. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Emmitt loved fishing with his wife, Georgia, sometimes until two or three in the morning. He enjoyed taking his nieces and nephews anywhere they wanted to go with a full pocket book. Emmitt was a generous man; anytime you would go out to eat with him, he insisted on paying the bill. Dominoes and 42 was another passion of his. Emmitt was a true gentleman and will be remembered by his kindness and generosity. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and 7 siblings. Survivors include a brother, Conway Cone and a host of loved nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.Arrangements under the direction of Connally-Compton Funeral Directors, Waco, TX.
