Edward Earl Crowdis Sr. June 8, 1927 ~ June 13, 2010 Edward Earl Crowdis Sr., 83, formerly of Waco, Texas, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010 in Fort Worth, Texas. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Carroll Smith officiating. Burial will follow at China Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the funeral home. Edward was born June 8, 1927 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Theodore Riley and Eunice Elizabeth (Moore) Crowdis. He retired from the Air Force serving in WWII and Korea and received a Purple Heart. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife, Louella Katherine Crowdis. Those left behind to cherish his memories are his children, Patricia A. Chapin and husband, Terry, Edward Earl Crowdis Jr. and wife, Joni, John C. Crowdis and wife, Chari, Teresa R. Crowdis; siblings, Russell Crowdis and wife, Margaret, Betty Roberts and husband, Harold "Slim", Donald Crowdis and wife, Siri, Eugene Crowdis and wife, Betty; 11 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be John C. Crowdis Jr., Paul Stephen Crowdis, Edward Wayne Crowdis, Stephen Walpold, Karl Risden Westen and Shawn Craig Gouyton.Arrangements under the direction of Connally/Compton Funeral Directors, Waco, TX.
