Eddie Camille ForsgardNovember 10, 1908 ~ April 5, 2014Miss Forsgard, 105, of Waco died April 5, 2014 at St. Catherine Center in Waco, Texas.Visitation will be at Connally Compton, Noon, Saturday, April 12, 2014, with graveside services following at 2:00 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery.Miss Forsgard was born November 10, 1908, the daughter of Edward F. Forsgard and Annie M. (Weaver) Forsgard. She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees at Baylor University and later attended the University of Texas and the University of Houston. Miss Forsgard was a retired Elementary School Principal of Sul Ross Elementary and Hillcrest Elementary, and taught at many schools including, Chalk Bluff, Sul Ross Elementary, Waco Independent Schools, Bi-Co School for the Deaf and Hillcrest Elementary School. She was a lifetime member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Texas State Teachers Association, NEA, Texas Congress of Parents and Teachers; Waco Admin Club; Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association. Miss Forsgard was a former member of the National Elementary Principals; past President of Waco Association of Childhood Education International; board of directors EOAC 1966; assistant Oral Polio Immunization Campaign McLennan County 1963. She worked with the Literacy Program at Baylor University; directed the program for Non-English Speaking Children, Waco, 1960; was the Editor Sul Ross News 1947-71; had the Windowbox Dedicated in History Hall of Youth Cultural Center, Hillcrest PTA 1976; and received a Certification of Citizens for Dedicated Service to Waco ISD from the Texas House of Representatives in 1979. Four paintings to Tribute Miss Eddie C. Forsgard were placed in Hillcrest Elementary School in 1979 when she was Principal. She is preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Pearl Forsgard Robinson, Samuel McCullough Forsgard, Annie Lena Forsgard, Mary Forsgard O'Neal and Rhoda Forsgard Clinton; and nephew, Gordon Robinson.Survivors include nephews, Samuel McCullough Forsgard, Jr. and Howard Douglas Robinson; nieces Jean Forsgard Robinson, Sylvia Forsgard Vaughan and Ann Marie Forsgard McDonald; cousins, Eddie Pearl Smith, Robinette Evans and Ruth Ann Smith, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, co-workers, and students, whose lives she touched through her many years of dedicated service.
