Earline WiecheringDecember 9, 1913 – August 17, 2010 Earline Louise Wiechering, 96, passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010 in Katy, TX. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 20, 2010 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2000 Clay, with Pastor Jim Price officiating. Burial will follow at McGregor Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors. Earline was born December 9, 1913 in McGregor, Texas to William Henry and Emma Louise (Dreyer) Niemeier. She was baptized on February 1, 1914 in McGregor by Pastor Gagalin. Following instructions in the faith, she was confirmed on March 24, 1929 at Peace Lutheran Church, which is now St. Paul Lutheran Church in Crawford, Texas. She attended the Plainview school near McGregor. She also took organ lessons with the American College of Music, learning to play on an old church pump organ. On October 22, 1936, she married Walter Wilhelm Wiechering at the Peace Lutheran Church. The family lived in Moody and McGregor, where they were members of Zion Lutheran church in McGregor. They moved to Waco in 1947 with their family. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church of Waco. She taught Sunday school for 40 years. She also taught Vacation Bible School for many years. Earline was Christian Growth chairman in Lutheran Women's Missionary League, and had been a choir member and a church greeter until recently. Earline enjoyed cooking, especially coffee cake, cookies, and deserts. She also enjoyed sewing, and working in the yard. She loved her family, church, and most of all her Savior Jesus Christ. During her last year, spent at Heritage Park Nursing Home in Katy, she was known as the little lady, who daily read her Portals of Prayer and Bible by the nurses station. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter W. Wiechering; and sons, Virgil L. Wiechering and Curtis R. Wiechering. Those left behind to cherish Earline's memory are her daughter, Waldean Ruth Rylander and husband, Fred Anthony, of Katy; granddaughters, Paula Emilie Schumann and husband, John, of Austin, Lynette Carole Gillis and husband, John, of Austin, and Karen Michelle Yeager and husband, Nathan, of Houston; great grandchildren, Emma and Lilah Schumann of Austin, Jack, Rylan, Caroline, and Mary Claire Gillis of Austin, and Callie, Harlo, and Grant Yeager of Houston; brother-in-law, Harold Wiechering and wife, Viola, of McGregor; special friend, Evelyn Huschka of Waco; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2000 Clay, Waco, Texas, 76706.
