Dora Emma LowrieDecember 15, 1938 ~ August 2, 2008 Dot Lowrie, 69, of Waco, passed away at her home on Saturday, August 2, 2008. Services will be 10 am, Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Pastor Richard E. Dool officiating. Burial will follow at Bosqueville Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will be from 5 to 7 pm, Wednesday, August 6, at the funeral home. Dora Emma was born the daughter of Ruth Marie Bruce and Lewis Pitts on Dec. 15, 1938 in Doswell, Virginia. In 1963 she married Elgin Wayne Lowrie. Dot was a member of Bosqueville Baptist Church and worked in the nursery there for 20 years. The past five years she faithfully attended Great Life Pentecostals. Dot was a seamstress, good cook and had a green thumb when it came to gardening. Much of her life was spent caring for the young and elderly, in spite of her own health issues. Preceding her in death were her parents; and her husband, Elgin in December 1985. Those left behind to cherish her memory are sons, Bobby Lowrie and Lewis Lowrie and his wife, Laura Ann, all of Waco; daughter, Laura Lynn Wyatt and husband, Aaron of College Station; grandchildren, Josey Lowrie, Kristina Wyatt, Annalise Lowrie and Aaron Wyatt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
