Donnie Snider Donnie Snider, 53 of Waco passed away Monday morning, September 11, 2006 in a Dallas hospital. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m., Thurs, September 14, 2006 at Woodway First United Methodist Church with Dr. Jeff Smith officiating, burial to follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation with family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wed. Sept. 13, at the funeral home.Donnie was born September 13, 1952 in Waco to James and Rita Snider. He had lived in Waco all his life. Mr. Snider was a member of the 1965 Northern Little League team, the only Waco team that ever made it to the World Series. This team finished third in the world. Over the years, Donnie continued to work with area Little League teams and was an inspiration to many athletes. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a long time member of Woodway First United Methodist Church where he was responsible for starting the athletic club and served in numerous capacities. He was a big supporter of Baylor University and worked for thirty years taking up tickets for athletic events. He retired at an early age from Haught Air Conditioning after 20 years due to his rare lung disease, Alpha 1 Antirypsin Deficiency. Those who are left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 32 years, Brenda, daughters Christine Medina and husband Sergio of Waco, Leann Brown and husband Chad of Waco, grandsons Zakary, Luke and Nicolas. He is also survived by his parents James and Rita Snider, sister Suzie Eppers and husband Danny of Houston, brother Russell Snider of Waco, sister Jennifer Olson and husband Dale of Robinson.Memorial Donations maybe made to the Alpha 1 foundation; MDA's ALS Division or Woodway First United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
