Delores Goodman of Waco passed away Friday night, November 1, 2013, at the age of 81. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Connally-Compton Funeral Directors Chapel, 4400 West Waco Drive with everend Barry Camp officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 P.M. at Mart Cemetery in Mart, Texas.Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Connally-Compton Funeral Directors. Ms. Goodman was born March 10, 1932, in Houston, Texas, the daughter of the late Luther Marcus and Margaret Irene (Barnett) Goodman. In 1948, she graduated from Elenor-McCarter Stewart, a private school, in Houston. For many years, she was employed as a secretary for Brakefield Realestate and Insurance in Houston until her 1980 retirement. Following her professional career, in 1980, she left Houston and moved to Waco where she became a saleslady for Walmart until her 1991 retirement. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church of Waco where she was a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class. Throughout her life, she was an artist who enjoyed drawing. Also preceding her in death was a sister, Margaret Goodman.Survivors include a sister, Jean McNamara and husband Pat of Waco; two nephews, Patrick McNamara, Michael McNamara; two nieces, Margaret Gonzales and Elizabeth Franco.
