Darriel Newton Raborn, 82, passed away March 12, 2016 in Waco. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00p.m., Friday, March 18, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8:00p.m., Thursday, March 17, at the funeral home. Darriel was born February 17, 1934 in Moody, Texas to Newton C. and Nova (Pedigo) Raborn. He was the owner of Darriel Raborn Roofing for many years. Darriel was an avid hunter and fisherman and went on many trips with his son, Larry. Later in life he volunteered at the Harrison Senior Center, where they considered him their extended family.He was preceded in death by his parents, Newton Raborn and Nova Carpenter; daughter, Connie Kimmons and his sister, Joan Harwell.Survivors include his son, Larry Raborn and wife Cindy of China Springs; sister, Martha Neill of Hewitt; brother Melton Wayne Raborn of China Spring; grandchildren, Robin and husband James, Missy, Courtney, and Lindsey and husband Chris; great grandchildren, Brittney, Matthew, William, Kevin, Michael, Maci, Marli, Carli, and Cooper; and great-great- grandchildren, AJ, Charlie and Parker.Arrangements under the direction of Connally-Compton Funeral Directors, Waco, TX.
