Darrel Walters, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on October 29, 2026 at the age of 77. 

Born September 3, 1949 in Lumberton, North Carolina to John Craton and Fronie Walters, he grew up in North Carolina and entered military service with the United States Army as a young man. He was decorated Vietnam War veteran having received several medals. 

Darrel is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Betty. He and Betty made their home in the Waco area where they raised their two sons. 

He spent 30 years with the Owens-Illinois Glass Plant retiring in 2007. 

Darrel always looked forward to spending time with family and enjoyed several hobbies including bass fishing, watching Westerns, and reading Louis L'Amour novels. 

He is survived by his son, Darrel Ray Walters and wife, Jennifer; son, Gary Kinsey and wife, Rebecca; grandsons, Garrett Kinsey and wife, Micaela and Austin Kinsey; as well as many nieces and nephews.
