Columbus Breeland, 93 of Waco went to be with his eternal heavenly Father on Friday, March 9, 2012. Visitation will be Monday, March 12, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Connally/Compton Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial Park with Providence Hospice Chaplain Rev. Greg Knippa officiating.Columbus was born December 24, 1918 in Scroggins, TX to Nugent & Bertha Breeland. He was a Navy Veteran of 20 years serving in various WWII campaigns. Upon retirement in 1957, Columbus worked for the United States Postal Service until 1978. He is survived by his beloved wife and soul mate of 68 years, Georgia Munos Breeland; daughter, Margaret and husband J.C. Landfried of Hewitt; sons, John Thomas and wife Norma Jean Breeland of Dickinson; Norman Ray and wife Susan Breeland of China Springs; 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
