Colleen Hughes Cowart of Waco, Texas passed away on November15, 2016. Colleen was born in Bristow, OK to Orin and Chaille Hughes. Colleen married her soul mate and love of her life, O. Hiram Cowart MD in February 11, 1951. They were married for 42 years until God called Doc home on January 21, 1997. Never out of each other's sight, Colleen was "Doc's" nurse as well. Mrs. Cowart was preceded in death by her husband O.Hiram Cowart M.D., her parents, granddaughters Melissa Lee Cowart, and Jennifer Jane Bilton, brother David Hughes, and sister Margaret Hughes. She is survived by daughter Carol Ann Cowart of Clifton, sons Roger Cowart M.D. and wife Kimberly of Hewitt, Stephen (Kim) Cowart and wife Margaret of China Spring, and daughter Jane Cowart Feland and husband Carol of Amarillo and youngest sister Sara Jane Von Dran of Houston. Colleen was the proud grandmother to Amanda Krailey, Robert Cowart, Vanessa Cowart, Stephen Cowart, Dianna Fitch, Hiram Feland and Kyle Feland. Not to be left out are the extra blessings that Colleen and Doc assisted in raising during their marriage together. Colleen has more than a Texas dozen of great grandchildren she was very grateful for as well.
