Charles R. MignosaSeptember 9, 1916 – August 2, 2010 Charles R. Mignosa, 93, a retired farmer, died peacefully Monday, August 2, 2010. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 6, 2010 at St. Louis Catholic Church, 2001 N. 25th Street, with Father John Guzaldo, Celebrant. Entombment will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors. A rosary will be recited following the visitation. Charlie was born September 9, 1916 in Waltham, Massachusetts to Salvatore and Rose Russo Mignosa. Charlie, a first generation American of Italian immigrants, helped support his family during the Great Depression by working at a local farm. A graduate of Waltham High School, he eventually moved to South Hampton, New Hampshire where he established Never Idle Farm. He married Aurora F. Reyes-Mignosa, MD in 1962. He loved working in the garden and playing the piano and violin in his spare time. Fiercely independent, he took pride in doing things on his own and in his own way. Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother. Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Aurora F. Reyes-Mignosa, MD and daughter, Aurora Mary Mignosa, MD. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all the staff of Wesley Woods Alzheimer Care Center. Special thanks to the nurses of Bluebonnet, Willow and Oak unit, Kayleigh Cunningham, LMSW and his favorite nurse, Theresa. Thanks also to the Providence Hospice nurses, chaplain and Michael Jahrmarkt, MD, the staff of 4 South of Providence Health Center, Jason Boley, MD and the staff of the DePaul Geriatric Unit, James Hodges, MD and Scott Smith, MD and clinic staff.
