Charles Clifford HolmesOctober 8, 1927 ~ January 6, 2009 Charles Clifford Holmes, 81, of Waco, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2009. Services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Rick White officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Mott Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, January 12, at the funeral home. Charles Clifford was born to Georgia Dickson and William Holmes in New Orleans, Louisiana on Oct. 8, 1927. He was married to Beverly Joyce Christian on July 28, 1992. Preceding Charles in death were his parents. Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving and dedicated wife of 16 ½ years, Beverly Holmes of Waco; sons, Charles Jones and wife, Martha of Ft. Worth, Larry, Stevie, Charles Jr., Denzel and Chester Holmes; daughters, Paulette Faison, Loretta, Charlese and Janetta; brother, Eddie Holmes of Palo Alto, Calif; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
