Celestina Navarro, 92, passed away at a local nursing home February 12, 2016.Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00a.m., Monday, February 15, at St. Francis Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.Visitation will be held Sunday, February 14, from 4 to 6:00p.m., with a rosary at 5:00p.m., at Connally Compton Funeral Directors. Celestina was born April 6, 1923 in Whitney, Texas to Toribio and Guadalupe (Cadena) Tenorio. She worked as a poultry handler for many years; she also worked at Wolfe's Florist, taking care of the flowers. Celestina married Juan Navarro in 1980. She was a longtime member of St. Francis Church and had a strong faith in God. She was known to always be praying and made sure she knew the bible. Celestina was strong willed and worked hard all her life. She will be greatly missed by her family.She was preceded in death by her husband, and several brothers and 3 sisters.Survivors include her brothers, Martin Tenorio and Juan Tenorio and several nieces and nephews.The family would like to thank the staff of Woodland Springs Nursing Home for their love and care of Celestina in her last days.
