Cecilia Ochoa GonzalesDecember 8, 1933 – January 15, 2009 Cecilia Ochoa Gonzales went home to her Heavenly Father on Thursday January 15, 2009 in Temple Texas. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, January 20th at 10 am at St. Francis Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, January 19th at 7 pm at Connally /Compton Funeral Directors Chapel. Cecilia was born to the late Luther and Frances Ochoa on December 8, 1933 in Valley Mills, Texas. She was an extraordinary mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was married to John Gonzales, Sr. in 1954 and was divorced in 1968. Her love was unconditional. As a single and devoted mother, her countless sacrifices for her children will never go unnoticed. Her most precious gifts guided by her Lord to her children and grandchildren, were family love, family respect and family faith. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed the simple things in life such as quality time with loved ones, rides out on the country roads, gardening, rock collecting, and just enjoying a beautiful day. Survivors include her sons, John Gonzales Jr. and George Gonzales Sr.; daughters, Julia Veracruz and husband Benny, Caroline Olvera, Catherine Cavazos and husband James Queener, Martha Gonzales and husband Robert Garcia, Virginia Garcia and Evalisa Lopez; 13 grandchildren, Julian Veracruz, Christopher Olvera, Joshua Olvera, Marc Cavazos, John Cavazos, George Gonzales Jr., Sunshine Gibson, Rachelle Gonzales, Robert Garcia, Mandria Arias, Christopher Chavez, Candice Pena and Stephanie Lopez; 16 great grandchildren; brothers, Freddie Ochoa and Mike Ochoa; sisters, Rita Ramirez, Angelina DeYoung and Gloria Harris all of Waco. The Gonzales family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to the professional and support staffs at Scott and White Hospital, Hospice, and the Glenda Vasicek Cancer Center, for their care and compassion during Mrs. Gonzales's stay.
