Bruce ScottDecember 12, 1951 ~ August 18, 2008 Bruce Scott, 56, of Waco, passed away early on Monday, August 18, 2008 while working. Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, August 23, 2008 at Crawford Cemetery with Pastor Bill Packer officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, August 22, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors. Gary Bruce Scott was born on Dec. 12, 1951 to Martha Louise Powell and Harold Eugene Scott in Waco, Texas. Bruce began driving a gas truck at age 15. On June 8, 1974 he married the love of his life, Brenda Kay Sanders at Kendrick Lane Baptist Church. He worked for the Sheriff's Dept. for 22 years before retiring in Dec. 2004. Being such a hard worker, Bruce was driving a petroleum truck up until the time of his death. He was an avid motorcyclist and loved taking trips to the hill country and Big Bend in particular. Our wonderful husband, Dad and Pa-Paw will be greatly missed. Preceding Bruce in death were his parents, Louise and Harold Scott. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 34 years, Brenda Scott of Waco; Children, Kelli Orr of Clute, and Clinton Scott and Amber Scott of Waco; grandkids, Cody Orr and Allison Orr; sister, Sharon Scott; and brothers, Jim and Joe Scott. Pallbearers will be Doyle Wayne Farney, Kenneth Hutyra, Tommy Kroll, Larry Poe, James Robinson and Michael Sellick. The Blue Knights will be honorary pallbearers.
