Bruce Dwight O'Donnell

Bruce Dwight O`Donnell went to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on August 15, 2026 surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born April 4, 1951. He served in the Navy, Army, and Air Force and was committed to serving his country. His love of nature and wildlife was never more apparent than when he was working on the land where Bruce and Stephanie were building their home.

In his lifetime quest for learning, he loved history, space, and Snoopy. Bruce was a mechanic, plumber, builder, gardener, caretaker and so much more. Bruce thought through everything he did and worked to achieve perfection on his projects while recognizing when and how to be creative in his solutions. The words,” It can`t be done” rarely came to his mind.

Bruce rightly earned his Doctorate of Divinity and served as an ordained Minister, as evidenced by his deep love and Christian faith. He served God by his work and the commitments that he made, ever mindful to stop and thank God for all His many blessings.

Bruce and Stephanie were married on September 5, 2015 and have been loving faithful partners for eleven years. Bruce immediately became an integral part of the family he married and will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by parents William & Ellen Odonnell, sister Beth Ann Odonnell, and previous wife of 28 years Kim O’Donnell as well as his beloved dog Thor.

Bruce is survived by wife Stephanie, parents by marriage Paulette & Lloyd Redding, siblings Rebecca & Andy Meredith, Billy Odonnell, Brenda & Floyd Stokes, and Dawn & James McKeand, Aunt Clara Redding, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family he loved dearly.

We celebrate the life Bruce lived and the legacy he leaves behind. The example Bruce set caring for others will be an inspiration to all. There is no doubt he is home rejoicing with the Lord.

All family and friends are invited to join in the services of celebration for Bruce at Waco Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1st from 6 to 8pm. Funeral will be September 2nd at 10am in the chapel with graveside immediately following. A light lunch reception will follow in reception room next to the chapel.
