Betty Joyce Mitchell, 84, of Waco, passed away February 19, 2024 in a local hospital. Graveside services will be 12:00 PM, Monday February 26, 2024 in Waco Memorial Park with Mr. Jordan Hubbard officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, February 25th at the funeral home.

Mrs. Mitchell was born on May 23, 1939 in Lee County, Texas to Robert and Blanche (Moses) Stevens. She lived in Waco the majority of her life. She married Charles Mitchell in Waco and was a devoted housewife and the mother of 5.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers; Charles and Howard Stevens and sisters; Carolyn Hamilton and Ruby Beaty. Survivors include her children: Betsy McCown and her husband, Milton, Robert Mitchell, Wanda Anton, Nathan Mitchell and Joyce Mitchell, sister; Dorothy Wallace and 71 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
