Betty Sue Harris, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 in Sachse, Texas. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2024 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors. Interment to follow in Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024 at the funeral home.

Betty Sue was born on May 12, 1943, to Derwood and Betty Lewis in Wheeler, Texas.

She is survived by her sons, David Harris and wife Larissa and Eddy Harris; grandchildren Jheri Troy and husband Adam, Toni Harris and partner Korey, and David Harris Jr. and wife Emily; and great grandson Atticus Troy; brothers David Lewis and wife Barbara, Gary Lewis and wife Kay; and all their beautiful children and grandchildren.

Betty Sue lived a meaningful life dedicated to her family. She was an active golfer and fisherman, which she inherited from her daddy. In her early years in Lefors, TX, Betty Sue was active in church, sports and had a love for horses. She was famous for making the best chicken fried steak, chili con carne, biscuits and gravy, chilaquiles, pumpkin cake, and the creamiest mac & cheese.

Betty Sue's fun-loving spirit, humor and kindness will be greatly missed. In her final days, she reconfirmed her Salvation with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
