Obituary

B. C. "Bit" Dugger, Sr., 89, of Waco, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2005. Services will be at 3:30 pm on Monday, March 14 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Boyce Vardeman officiating and burial to follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will be from 4 to 6 pm Sunday at the funeral home.B. C. was born to Benjamin Harrison and Nola Irene Ward Dugger on June 22, 1915 in McLennan County. He married Esther Louise Cox on May 8, 1937. B. C. worked at Cameron Mill in Waco, then for U. S. Steel Cement Manufacturing until WWII, was a Sgt. in the Engineer Corps, a WWII veteran, retired as general maintenance supervisor at Universal Atlas Cement in 1977, then did consulting work after that. He was a charter member of Woodway First United Methodist Church and served as chairman of the building committee when the new sanctuary was built.Preceding B.C. in death were his parents; brother, Harlen Dugger; and sister, Opal Kelly.Surviving B.C. are his wife of 67 years, Esther Louise Cox Dugger of Waco; sons, Rev. Connally Dugger, Jr. of Arlington and Michael Lee Dugger of Waco; grandchildren, Cathy Denise Moore of Robinson and Cary Dwayne Dugger of Flower Mound; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Lemuel, Clayton and Jesse Weldon Dugger, all of Waco; and sisters, Dorothy Whisenhunt and LaVerne Benson, both of Waco.Pallbearers will be Ben Benson, Cary Dugger, Clayton Dugger, Jesse Weldon Dugger, Lem Dugger, and Jesse Moore.Memorials may be made to the building fund of Woodway First United Methodist Church, PO Box 20548, Waco, TX 76702.
