Barbara Walker Hodges, 65, of Waco, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026.
A viewing will be held Friday, June 12, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Waco Memorial Funeral Home, 6623 Interstate 35 South, Robinson, Texas. A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Waco Memorial Funeral Home.
Barbara was born on January 3, 1961, in Mississippi to Roosevelt Walker and Mary Jane Walker. A longtime resident of Waco, she lived a life centered on faith, family, and service. She was the devoted wife of Floyd Hodges for 45 years and a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Barbara served for 15 years as a Juvenile Supervision Officer at the Bill Logue Juvenile Justice Center, where she was dedicated to helping and guiding young people. She enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, and creating cherished memories with those she loved.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Roosevelt Walker and Mary Jane Walker; her sister, Felicia Johnson; and her brother, Calvin Walker.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd Hodges; her children, Andre Hodges (Amber), Laura Kingery (Jesse), and Jennifer Lockwood (David); her grandchildren, Alyssa, Konner, Kolten, Aubrey, Korben, and Preston; and her siblings, Roosevelt Walker Jr., Charles Walker (Gala), and Sacred Walker.
Barbara will be remembered for her strength, kindness, unwavering faith, and deep love for her family. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Heaven shared an angel on January 3, 1961, and called her home to glory on May 24, 2026.
