Dr. Annie Pearl (Moore) Baugh, 90, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at Royal Manor Health Center in Waco. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She was best known for her unwavering love for her family, friends, students, and patients. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17, at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors with Rev. Jack Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Friday, March 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Annie was born on March 1, 1917 in McKinney to the late William M. and Lillie L. (Mounger) Moore. She grew up on the Moore farm at Forest Grove and was baptized in the creek at Friendship Baptist Church near McKinney. In 1934, Annie graduated from Boyd High School in McKinney, TX. In 1944 she completed her B.A. degree in Education and Spanish from North Texas State Teachers College in Denton (North Texas State University). In 1954 she graduated from Baylor University in Waco with her M.A. degree in Education. Then, in 1963, she earned her doctoral degree (EdD) in Counseling from Baylor University. She married Verner Schoolfield Baugh on Dec. 25, 1937 and they were married for 46 years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Verner, in 1984 and her sister Tressie Bowen in 1998. Annie's love of people was expressed through her choice of occupations. She taught elementary school for 17 years, including schools at Branch, Robinson, Speegleville and Elm Mott. Then she worked for 17 years as a Counseling Psychologist in Iowa and Texas, including the VA Hospitals of Waco and Temple for the final 12 years of her career. She is survived by her three children, Dr. Jarod Baugh and wife Lynette of Waco; Larry Baugh of Austin; Dr. Janet (Baugh) Parris and husband Keith of San Antonio; her sisters, Juanita Wood of Waco and Edna Madewell of Temple; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and three step-great grandchildren. Serving, as pallbearers will be Annie's grandsons and great-grandsons. Annie will be laid to rest next to her husband at Waco Memorial Park. The Family would like to thank the staff at Royal Manor Health Center and Providence Hospice for providing such wonderful care.
