Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 16, 2010 at Sacred Heart Church, 2621 Bagby Avenue, with Father Ghiovanni Caprio, Celebrant. Committal services will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with a rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Amelia was born July 10, 1914 in Bastrop, TX to Alejandro and Sara Martinez Soto. She married Joe E. Marquez on June 8, 1929 in Waco, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alejandro and Sara Soto; loving husband of 55 years, Joe E. Marquez; and brother, Steve Soto. Those left behind to cherish her memories are her sons, Tony Soto Marquez and wife, Faye, Paul Soto Marquez and wife, Faye, Joe Soto Marquez Jr.; grandchildren, Gloria Guardiola and husband, Jesse, Joe Marquez III and wife, Sylvia, Steve Marquez, Amelia Marquez, Ernest Marquez, 5 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
