Alvena O. "Bunnie" White, 94, of Waco, passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors with the Reverend Jim Hauser officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Monday, August 15th at the funeral home.Mrs. White was born on July 6, 1922 in Georgia to Nathan and Eva (Long) Owens. She married Tommy "T.J." White on December 6, 1938 in Lubbock, Texas and they celebrated over 58 wonderful years together until his death on August 3, 1997. Mrs. White sold real-estate and owned and operated White's Antiques in Texas City. She loved to cook, fish, play bridge and dancing but her true love was her family, which she loved very much. Mrs. White was a member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church and the Daughters of the Nile, serving as Queen in 1990-1991. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Bertie Mae Sandage, and brothers; N.J. and Dutch Owens.Survivors include her sons Billy J. White, and his wife Annette; and Bobby C. White; grandsons Billy J. White, Jr. and Thomas White; great granddaughters Whitney Perry and Kendall White; great-great granddaughters Paisley Perry and Emery Perry; longtime friend Gordon Sims; niece Barbara Ann McKinney and nephew Nate Owens.
