Alice Hennig, 83, of Waco passed away Friday, June 22,2012 at Catherine's Hospice Care Center in Waco. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Connally Compton Funeral Directors of Waco with Chaplain Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Waco. Visitation with the family will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Connally Compton.Alice was born July 25,1928 in Otto, Texas to Edward Finn and Minnie Kuehne Finn. She was raised and educated in Otto. She married Melvin Hennig August 1, 1953 in Waco. She was a member of St John's United Church of Christ in Robinson. She was a bookkeeper for K-Mart and retired after many years of employment. Alice was active with Providence Volunteer Services from 1988 until present. She had volunteered 3, 386 hours and was recognized as the Volunteer of the Year in 2004.Mrs. Hennig was preceded in death by four siblings and by her husband of 35 years in October 1988. Survivors include one son; Jack Hennig and wife Joyce of Waco; two daughters; Debbie Hill and husband Steve of Austin and Sherian McQueen of Waco; five grandchildren; Donny McQueen, Chris McQueen, Sonya Hennig, Garrett Hill, Jessica Tompane; four great-grandchildren, Michael McQueen, Devan McQueen, Ian Hennig, Tia McQueen and numberous great-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to Providence Heart Center. Alice was one of the most loving people to her family and many of her children's friends who called her "momma Alice." She will be greatly missed by all.
