Alberta "Plemons" Miller, 87, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2004 at her residence. She went to sleep peacefully at her home after a short battle with cancer. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2004 at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with the Reverend Ron Oden officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Ms. Miller was born on July 8, 1916 to Bill and Bertie Chaney Reed in McGregor, Texas. Alberta Miller was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed by everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by many of her loved ones. Survivors include her daughters Selva Gilleland and her husband Dr. Jim of Waco, Angie Echterling and her husband Fred of Robinson and Linda Grote and her husband Lamar of Perry; special and trusted friend Wiley Fuentes of Waco; sister Nell McCorkle of Waco; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; her beloved dogs Sissy and Tiny and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Richard Brucker, Jeff Summers, Jason Summers, Jimmy Honea, Mark Gibson, James Honea. Arrangements are under the direction of Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.
