Obituary

Agnes Redding Hammermeister, 92 from Lacy Lakeview passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 18th 2023.
Agnes was born on August 20th 1930 to Arthur and Eudora Redding. Agnes attended and graduated from LaVega High School.
After high school Agnes attended a local business school and majored in processing. Agnes married Donald Jean Hammermeister on January 11th 1952 and resided in Lacy Lakeview. Agnes worked for Texas Farm Bureau for many years and retired in 1991 after 41 years of service. Agnes was very active in her church, with her children and later on grandchildren and great grandchildren. Agnes loved a great domino game, bingo, canasta, gambling in Branson, MO and selling Avon. Agnes loved selling Avon and did for many many years. Thank you to all of her faithful customers over the years . Agnes enjoyed gardening, raising her chickens, cooking and telling all her grandkids how to do it and watching her "stories" Dynasty, Dallas, Falcon Crest and Days of our Lives and many more.

Agnes is survived by her son Ed Forbes from Midlothian, daughter n law Vicky Hammermeister from Chalk Bluff and Andrea Hammermeister from Rosebud, niece Brenda Redding from Waco, eight grandchildren Dawn Hammermeister Dulus and husband Jon from Hewitt, Greg Hammermeister and wife Courtney from Hewitt, Danna Forbes Martin and husband Richard from Maypearl, Clint Forbes from Maypearl, Amber Hatcher from Tyler, Jimmy Hatcher from Austin, Cody Hammermeister and wife Mindy from Beaumont, Seth Hammermeister from Humble and 18 great grandchildren.

Agnes is preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Eudora Redding, husband Donald Hammermeister, brother Walter Redding, her children Wayne Hammermeister, Joe Hammermeister and Sandy Hatcher.

Visitation will be at Connally Compton Funeral Directors on Saturday April 22nd from 4-6pm. Services will be held at Chalk Bluff Baptist Church on Sunday April 23rd at 2pm with burial following immediately at Moore Cemetery.

Agnes's family want to thank Lucille Thomas with Visiting Angles and Brookdale Assisted Living for their time and dedication to Agnes care throughout this last year.
