Lavaun DeMonney

October 23, 1928 — December 25, 2018

Lavaun DeMonney, age 90, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went to be with our Lord and Savior on December 25, 2018.

Mr. DeMonney was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 23, 1928. He is preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Elizabeth DeMonney and his loving wife of 38 years, Vleta Nell DeMonney.

Mr. DeMonney grew up in Fairfield and Teague, Texas. He later moved to Waco where he attended and graduated from LaVega High School and Baylor University with a degree in business. For many years in Waco he owned and operated Brazos Elevator Company and Aid-O-Maid Dumbwaiter Company, both located at 417 South 17th Street. He retired at the age of 80. Mr. DeMonney was a proud and lifelong member of the Waco Karem Shrine and Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his daughter Denise McCall and husband Jimmy; his daughter, Terry Tippie; five grandchildren, Jill Kuykendell and husband Kirk, Jonathan Santry and wife Janessa, Matthew Tippie, Scarlett McCormick and Jason McCall. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Zane and Ambree Kuykendall, Caleb McCall, Noah, Alexis Jeremiah and Michaela McCormick.

Mr. DeMonney is dearly loved and will be truly missed. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Karem Shrine of Waco, Texas.
